APS6 Business Analyst Team Leader

- Start: ASAP
- Term: Initial contract through to 31st December 2026 with potential for extension.
- Pay Rate: $60.26 per hour (excluding super).
- Location: Newcastle NSW

Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of technical analysts, setting clear expectations, managing performance, and developing technical capability.
- End-to-End Delivery: Coordinate the design, build, and validation of forward-looking operational reporting and projection products.
- Strategic Influence: Communicate complex analytical insights and risks to Senior Executives and the CEO to support informed decision-making.
- Operational Excellence: Set standards for analytical rigour, data integrity, and governance while driving continuous improvement in reporting processes.
Skills & Experience Required
- Technical Leadership: Demonstrated experience managing teams of technical specialists in high-pressure environments.
- Data Proficiency: Proven capability in data validation, assurance, and interpretation.
- Software Expertise: Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in writing/troubleshooting SAS/SQL.
- Analytical Judgement: Ability to make sound decisions on analytical approaches, assumptions, and trade-offs in ambiguous contexts.
- Operational Excellence: Demonstrated ability in design, build, validation and quality assurance of projection and scenario‑based reporting products.
- Communication: Highly developed skills in translating technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- Work Rights: Australian Citizenship required
Desirable Experience:
- Project Management: Ability to apply structured methodologies to ensure analytical projects are delivered on time and within scope.
- Advanced Forecasting & Modelling: Proficiency in developing complex predictive models and workload simulations to anticipate future demand.
- Government or Agency Exposure: Previous experience navigating the unique governance and operational frameworks of a public sector environment.
- Distributed Leadership: Proven success in managing and engaging remote or hybrid technical teams to maintain high performance across locations
